Days of Rampage:

Days of Rampage
Do you, too, have
days of rampage
nights of wakeful splendor
when all the world
seems too beautiful to bear?
Do you also have
moments when a star
could fall at your feet
and lie there
twinkling its last light
and you wouldn’t notice?
Awake
Awake
Do not accept
your lost astonishment
or relinquish wonder—
Flee into the forest
scale the nearest mountain
sink your nose in a rose
your toes in beach sand—
Embrace the concerto of wind
the symphony of rainfall
Let the earth love you
surround you with magic
be that child again
rampaging through the world
as if you own it
because, dear one, you do.
For today, anyway—
For today.
