Smarter Than Rocks Some of us believe we are smarter than rocks blades of grass bumble bees sea turtles elephants tigers whales environmentalists scientists lovers of nature. But what will still be here when we are done  destroying life with all of our bombs carelessness guns greed anger lack of love  lack of empathy plain stupidity? Rocks  there will be rocks proving how much smarter they are than we are.

            Sometimes In The Night Sometimes in the night I awake with a start     —then hear it again    the sound that woke me.
