Offer understanding.
Laugh often.
Withhold judgement.
Say “It’s gonna be okay.”
“I know you can handle this.”
“Wow. You’re incredible.”
Be lavish with praise.
Recall your strengths—
Forgive your weaknesses.
How else would you
treat a lifelong companion—
an intimate confidante,
the one who will always be there
through sun and storm?
The conversations that matter most
are those we have with ourselves.
They can make or break us.
So set some ground rules.
Resolve to follow them.
Be your own best friend,
celebrating life...
and the magnificence of you.
